Frequently Asked Questions

Logistics: How do I get to the venue?

Route to Cedar Hill State Park Headquarters at 1570 FM1382, Cedar Hill, TX 75104. Drive to the gate window and inform the park ranger that you are here for the wedding- this is important as otherwise they will ask that you purchase a day-pass. Once inside the park, take a left, the first right, and another right. Refer to the map here.

Invitations: When will invites be sent out?

We plan to send invitations out by the end of the summer!

Noon: Will there be food served?

Yes, we will serve lunch and dessert. Please note on your RSVP any dietary restrictions so we can accomodate you.

Entertainment: Will there be dancing?

We plan to play card games rather than have a dance floor, so we recommend brushing up on hearts rather than your moves, but you are always welcome to dance if you wish :).

Start time: When does the ceremony/reception start?

This subject to change, as we have not finalized our timeline yet. Currently, we plan to start the ceremony at 11am, with the reception and lunch to immediately follow at approxiately noon.

Dress code: What is the dress code?

Wear what you feel comfortable in! We will be wearing semi-casual attire, but feel free to dress up or down. The ceremony will be outdoors, so you may want to consider a jacket or sweater.

Parking: Where should I park?

There is parking directly in front of the recreation hall. In the unlikely case that parking fills, please park at the state park entrance and let us know so we can get you to the hall.

Entry: Is there a fee to enter the state park?

We will be covering park entry for all guests. At the entry gate, please indicate you are here for the wedding. (If you have a pre-existing Texas State Parks Pass, feel free to use it.)

Pets: Can I bring my pet?

Sadly, no pets are allowed in the state park. We will have to celebrate with your furry and/or scaly friend at another time!

Children: Can children attend?

Yes, children are welcome to attend! We will have card and lawn games for entertainment, please let us know if you need any accomodations.

Accessibility: Is the recreation hall accessible?

There is accessible parking, an accessible bathroom, and most areas can be accessed without stairs. There are three steps to get to the patio where we were holding the ceremony. Please let us know if you need any accomodations or have any concerns.

Oct 31st: Will the wedding be Halloween-themed?

October 31st was the best available day that fit everyone's schedule, and we do not intend to have a Halloween theme. We plan to end before the evening, leaving your Halloween night free for festivities!
